UI Settings

The following settings are available. Default values are applied if you do not specify one.

SettingDescriptionDefault Value
Validation StrategyDetermines the type of validation.Full Validation
Full Validation Request Timeout (milliseconds)Specify the time before requests to the Tax Authority's database times out.20 seconds
Full Validation Error Handling StrategyThis setting determines how the the system behaves when a full validation cannot be executed. For example, if the Tax Authorities service is not available. Integrated users can choose to proceed with a syntax check, set the validation result to invalid, or to block the tax calculation in the transaction. Standalone users can only proceed with the syntax check or set the validation result to invalid. These users are not performing tax calculations in the service so cannot block it.Proceed
Full Validation Cache Expiry (days)When a Tax ID is validated, the result can be stored and reused for subsequent validation requests. This setting controls how long the result is stored for. For example, if it is set to 30 days, the result is stored in the cache for 30 days. The cached result will be used for 30 days. If it is set to 0, no data is cached and so each request is sent live to the validation source.30 days
