Vertex for Marketplaces helps marketplaces selling goods to comply with VAT/GST regulations which have been introduced in a number of countries and regions. These regulations mean that the marketplace may be liable for the VAT/GST in a number of scenarios. In other scenarios the seller or buyer may be liable.

Marketplaces can configure the service to best suit their compliance and overall business requirements.

The core of the service is available via the REST APIs. See Getting Started with the APIs.

There is also a UI that can be used to configure some settings, view data and reports. See UI Overview.

Features

The service provides automated tax compliance software. This is a real-time VAT/GST and US sales tax calculation service.

Marketplace Transaction API: Use this API to integrate with your marketplace's store and with the stores of sellers on your marketplace. Both types of sales are facilitated by a single API integration. See Transaction Modeling.
Sellers endpoint: Use this endpoint to create seller record and edit their settings. In this example, the marketplace has used this endpoint to create their own UI to allow their sellers to edit their records. See Seller Settings Overview.
Marketplace endpoint: Use this endpoint to administrate your marketplace settings. In this example, the marketplace has used the endpoint build a UI for their employees to update settings. See Marketplace Settings Overview.
Vertex for Marketplaces UI: The service includes a UI to allow you to edit certain settings, do reporting and retrieve access tokens. Here, it is used by the marketplace employees to do these tasks. See UI Overview.
